The history of Gemstones dates back thousands of years, and they have appeared in different cultures and eras. The Egyptians are considered one of the first civilizations to use them in jewelry and decoration, followed by the Greeks and Romans in decorating their buildings and clothing. They were also used in the Middle Ages by the West in the manufacture of religious jewelry and also in medical treatments, which made them spread widely.

In the modern era, Gemstones became more popular than ever before, and they were a symbol of wealth and social status. Their use spread widely in luxury jewelry.

  • Color: Gemstones are characterized by their distinctive colors, which are produced by the presence of impurities in their chemical composition.
  • Brilliance: Gemstones are characterized by their ability to reflect light in a distinctive way, giving them a special shine.

Gemstones have a meaning, as each stone represents a certain symbol, which is what makes people choose them on this basis.

The Most Famous Types of Gemstones and Their Symbols

  • Diamond: The hardest of metals and precious stones, which symbolizes wealth, power, and luxury, making it the most famous types of precious stones. It is therefore used in the manufacture of luxury jewelry.
  • Emerald: Despite its high hardness, it carries a special color and unique, which is the emerald green color of a degree of green. It also symbolizes prosperity and love.
  • Ruby: There is no color that distinguishes ruby, but it varies to three colors: red, blue, and yellow. It is considered one of the precious stones and is used extensively by kings and princes.
  • Pearl: It differs in its method of formation from the rest of the stones because it is formed inside a living being, which is the oyster. Therefore, it symbolizes beauty and elegance. It is used extensively in the manufacture of jewelry, necklaces, earrings.
  • Agate: The owner of the colors and shapes of the variety, and the friend of the rulers and princes. They always use it to decorate rings and rosary beads.
